Of hospital visits

It's been two whole weeks of hospital visits for me. My five days' stay at the hospital was not altogether pleasant. I was given injections four times a day and the injections came in big fat needles. 15ml of medicine had to be pumped into the vein on my left hand through a needle already inserted there. It was painful. My hand became swollen after two days and the needle was then moved to my right hand for other injections. The right hand then became swollen in two days and so that was when the injections ended. Boy, was I glad when the needle was taken out for good! But I guess my phobia for needles increased since then.

We went to visit the doctor again yesterday and got admitted into the hospital again for my second time. This time because I was having fuzzy vision in addition to the dizziness. I had a blood test done. Despite having done so many blood tests before, I was really frightened. The nurse used a much thicker needle compared to the normal syringe usually used. I was shivering throughout the whole five minutes as she moved the needle to and fro inside my arm in search for the vein. I had clenched my teeth so hard that they still hurt now when I bring them together. It wasn't until she had filled two test tubes and removed the needle that I was myself again. The relief I felt was so very wonderful.

My admission was rejected by the insurans company and so I was discharged from the hospital on that very same day. (Thank God!) We stayed on to do some eye checks and an MRI on my brain to rule out everything. Mummy kept teasing me saying that we were going in to see a very handsome eye doctor. (The previous eye doctor I saw was a handsome one, according to Mum) When my name was called to see the eye doctor, I went in, took a look at his face and almost laughed out loud! Luckily for me, I managed to only smile. (one corner of my mouth went up first and the other automatically followed) Very naughty of me...I know, I know.

The MRI was scheduled at 11pm but the technician found an empty slot at 830pm and slotted me in. It was a boring half an hour lying in that noisy machine. It went "boom boom boom....tong tong tong...eeeeeeeeee....oooooooo....poooom poooom....." And as I was lying inside, I first tried to sleep but my brain was still wide awake, and my ears were listenning to the rhythm of the noises. There was a rhythm. Then funnily enough, I started drafting out my blog post in my head. I can't recall if it was anything like this post but I guess it was somewhere on the same lines.

We reached home past 9pm last night. It was indeed a very tiring day. To cut the story short, all test results came back negative. And so, we're back to square one again. Labyrinthitis! Oh I hate that name~
