Berkeley and San Francisco

Time to start blogging about my US trip before I forget what we did over there. :) The main focus of our trip was to see Eu Choon graduate. But first, a little on our stay at Berkeley. We stayed in Golden Bear Inn, a little inn around 10 minutes' drive from UC Berkeley. It was a nice, small, cozy place. Our first impression of Berkeley when we were there was...it was soooo cold!!! Actually the temperature wasn't really thaaat bad, but when the wind blew...oh my...it sent chills up and down our backbones. :P

Berkeley's a small town where you mostly see college students everywhere you go. We did lots and lots of walking there. Everytime we saw a bus pass us by, Mummy or Daddy would exclaim, "Eu Choon!!! There are buses! Why are you making us walk everywhere???" And Eu Choon would say, "This is how Eu Choon travel. Walking is good for you! Let you experience how Eu Choon stay in Berkeley mah." =.="

We went touring in UC Berkeley too. There were so many squirrels there! They're soooo cute! I kept wanting to play with them. Plus the trees and flowers there are so pretty too. Everything there looked so fat and rich and luxurious. I guess that's 'cos they all need the extra protective layer against the cold. :D

San Francisco was nice too. We went to the Farmer's Market where the farmers sell their produce. It was indeed a new experience. We tried so many different type of foodstuff there. My favourite was the cherries. The cheese was really nice too. They tasted like cheesecake! So very yummy. After that, we visited the famous Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. Thank God the sea lions were there that day. I would have been so very disappointed if they had decided not to go there. I've never seen so many sea lions before! They were so noisy and stinky! We did lots of walking around and visited the shopping places. That was where I bought my first pair of boots. I suddenly had the desire to buy myself a pair of boots after setting foot on Berkeley. Don't know what sparked that but my wish came true in San Francisco. :) It's a black pair of Roxy boots with cute ribbons at the back of each boot.

Eu Choon's graduation was on a Sunday morning. It was so different from the one I had in UTP. Firstly, it was held outdoors and could house so many more people. Secondly, they could all do crazy stuff during the ceremony. If me or my friends were to do any of those stuff in our uni, we would have been asked to leave the ceremony at once!!! What amused me was that they were allowed to decorate their mortar boards to their own liking. For example, one cheeky guy stuck the words "Hire Me" on top of his mortar board. Another wrote "Hi Mom" on his. Pretty cute. >.< They could even have themselves introduced as any name they liked, like "Dave the Impossible" or "Alvin the Great". :P Really crazy. :D But I kind of think that they had less time walking on stage than I had 'cos of the big amount of graduates they had. >.<

Well, I think that'll be all I write for now. My story will be continued the next time I get into my "blogging mood". :)
