A Super Tiring And Wonderful Day

Today we went over to Riffle Range flats to bless some less fortunate families. The church had identified many families who cannot even afford to have a reunion dinner. So many families participated from various churches all over Penang. Mummy and Shiow Hwa joined forces to "adopt" a family. An indian lady from another church joined us 'cos she couldn't speak hokkien, thus needed our help to communicate with them. She had four bags of 5kg rice plus some other stuff in each of the bags for two families. Together with our bags which consisted of chicken, cabbage, cauliflower, chocolates, mandarins, a 5kg packet of rice and a 5kg bottle of cooking oil, we had lots of exercise! A lot!!! I had one bag of 5kg rice in one hand and another bag of other stuff in the other hand. We walked past three lengths of blocks before reaching our block.

However, the joy on the faces of the first family we blessed made up for more than our tiredness of lugging those bags over the long distance. The old couple were smiling the whole time. Shiow Hwa said a short prayer in cantonese for them. I peeked out of curiosity and saw the aunty nodding her head all the time and murmuring lots of "amen"s. =) The uncle was really touched as well. We had to move on as we had two more families to visit. The uncle saw us off until we went into the lift. We could see so much gratitude and joy in his face. It was wonderful~

The two other families were at another block. We had more exercise carrying the other bags. The bag I had now was much much heavier than the earlier one. There was a 5kg pack of rice, two bottles of sauce, and some other stuff. My arms felt like they were breaking...almost! And we were all soaked with sweat. Mummy was fanning herself like crazy. =P Unfortunately, the other family was not in and we left the bags outside their unit with a note of blessing in one of the bags, hoping they would be blessed.

There goes the super tiring and super wonderful Saturday. We're all sweaty and smelly now. Service is in 1 minutes' time. Gotta go up. Hope the hall won't stink. >.< Cya~
